NewTV Executive Director Robert S. Kelly has served as an Executive Director in the Community Media cable television industry since 1990. He is the immediate Past Chair of Massachusetts Community Media, Inc. (dba MassAccess), a non-profit membership based organization. He is a proven advocate in protecting the First Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech while continuing to raise awareness of Community Media on the national level.Kelly is a multiple Emmy Award winning Executive Producer through his work on “The Folklorist” series produced by NewTV.He has served as a member of the Alliance for Community Media’s (ACM) Public Policy Working Group. He has been called a “soldier” by ACM leaders as a result of his work in securing CAP Act legislative support from Congressional leaders in Washington, D.C., Massachusetts State Representatives and city and town elected officials.Mr. Kelly is a former member of the Board of Governors of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, (NATAS) New England Chapter. He also is a former President of the Waltham (MA) City Council serving as the Ward One Councilor for 14 years.Additionally, he has served as a past member of the Advisory Board for Chart Bank, Benjamin Franklin Bank and the Rockland Trust Bank. Kelly is the immediate past Chair of the Newton-Needham (MA) Chamber of Commerce Non-Profit Council.He currently holds the position of President of Oakley Country Club. Oakley is the original Donald Ross design and was established in 1898.Mr. Kelly has two grown children and resides in the Greater Boston area with his wife Lori.
